YUNGBLUD’s new single ‘Zombie’ combines elements of alternative rock and grunge to create an intense and unfiltered display of what can be heard as a cry for help. The emotionally charged ballad begins with smooth and delicate vocals as Dom touches on the experience of mental pain and not wanting to burden others by reaching out for help.

The powerful chorus repeats the vulnerable question of “Would you even want me, looking like a zombie?” portraying the feeling of emotional disconnect to the world and people around you. This emotionally charged question ends up stuck in your head after listening, allowing you to reflect on yourself as well as providing emotional support through the journey of the song. The lyrics throughout the song capture the desire to connect with others and get better even though you might hurt through the process - the music video helps to display this journey.
The music video pulls at watchers heartstrings as it gives praise to the unsung heroes of the NHS within the UK. Gaining over 1 million views in less than 24 hours, it features renowned actress Florence Pugh, who takes on the role of a nurse and does an incredible job showing not only the physical pain and distress this career has on someone's body but also the mental and emotional struggles that come with it. Pugh took to Instagram to say that she's wanted to work with YUNGBLUD for a while and that she feels really inspired by how he uses his art and his voice, saying “I believe everything that YUNGBLUD stands for.”

Zombie has been picked up by fans on Tiktok who are using the song to express how proud they are of themselves or the people close to them for experience mental and physical challenges in their own lives, proving that no one has to suffer in silence and there's always people you are able to reach out to. Dom has said that he wanted to put the spotlight on those who go unnoticed, calling NHS workers our “true heroes.” He professes that love will save us all and that's his main message he wants people to take away from watching the video - claiming that it is “A love letter to nurses.”
YUNGBLUD’s upcoming, fourth album is titled ‘IDOLS’ and is a double album with the first collection of songs releasing on the 20th of June, just in time to hear him perform them at BLUDFEST the next day.

About the artist

YUNGBLUD (born Dominic Harrison) is a boundary-pushing British artist known for his explosive blend of punk energy, pop hooks, and outspoken social commentary. Since bursting onto the scene with his 2018 debut album 21st Century Liability, YUNGBLUD has built a global fanbase by fearlessly addressing themes like identity, mental health, and rebellion against the status quo. His music fuses raw guitars, anthemic choruses, and genre-blurring production, creating a sound that’s as defiant as it is unifying.

Renowned for his electrifying live shows and inclusive community, YUNGBLUD has become a voice for a generation that refuses to be boxed in. Whether collaborating with artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Halsey, or Willow, or standing alone with unapologetic, high-voltage singles, he continues to break rules and champion self-expression, inspiring fans to embrace their true selves without compromise.
