Bogotá traffic won the first round. After crawling through nearly 50 kilometres of classic Friday traffic, we finally made it to Teatro Astor Plaza around 6:15 p.m. — fully expecting door chaos. But the queue was surprisingly short — not because people were early, but because Bogotá was still holding them hostage. At 7 sharp, staff opened the lobby, and by 7:30, the doors to the hall were open. That’s when the energy really started to build.

Jacob Collier is one of the most brilliant minds in contemporary music, and seeing him live only confirms it. His ability to build entire sonic worlds from the ground up, harmony by harmony, feels like witnessing magic in real time. It’s musical genius, yes , but it’s also joy, play, and connection. That was the energy I walked in expecting.

But before I could even think about the music, I had to survive the venue.

A Loud, Wet and Unforgettable Outbreak 2025

Outbreak Festival is renowned for showcasing acts from a wide range of genres, and this year was no exception. In 2025, the line-up highlighted everything from hyper-pop and shoegaze to hardcore punk and more. Regardless of the genre, Outbreak Festival had one of the best crowds I’ve ever seen — with mosh pits, stage dives, and an energy that never wavered. As a magazine centred on the experiences of disabled attendees, it’s important to highlight just how inclusive the atmosphere was, particularly for those in wheelchairs. Throughout the weekend, the crowd welcomed wheelchair users to ‘crowd-surf’ — an undeniable act of kindness that showed Outbreak Festival truly is for everyone.

There’s something electric about a night when local talent steps into the spotlight—and absolutely owns it. With Manchester’s Gorilla venue as the backdrop and a lineup buzzing with indie promise, this wasn’t just a concert—it was a celebration of the North’s ever-growing music scene.

The anticipation for Arkayla’s headline show at Gorilla Manchester was truly ‘Ecstasy'. Since seeing the band perform at Sound City, I’d grown more and more fond of Arkayla and their music that encapsulated the styles of The Strokes and The Reytons, so this gig was one I’d looked forward to.

Bogotá, Colombia — What began as a slightly delayed, nerve-filled soundcheck turned into an emotional, musically rich night at Mr Bum Audiobar in Bogotá’s Usaquén district on 27 May. Vocal jazz took centre stage as Mariana Hernández — supported by a full band and a stunning nine-woman vocal ensemble — delivered a pre-thesis concert that was equal parts workshop, showcase, and celebration.

Middlesbrough Town Hall - Scottish indie rockers The Snuts brought their Millennials tour to Middlesbrough Town Hall for a memorable night. This was my first time seeing them live, and they did not disappoint. The Hall was completely full of fans, excited to hear them play. From the moment they stepped on stage, their presence was electrifying. The stage was filled with props making it feel more alive, the lighting was eye catching perfectly in sync with each track, making the show feel more vibrant. Which helped create an atmosphere so good that no one wanted it to end, even after the last song, chants for “one more song!” echoed around the hall.

Article and pictures by Val Hernández

Bogotá, Colombia – Colombian artist Laura Kalop performed an intimate midday set at Bogotá’s Cumbia House on 18th May, blending original material, classic covers, and personal storytelling in a show that felt both relaxed and deeply intentional. Though short—just under an hour—it offered a compelling glimpse into Kalop’s evolution as a songwriter and performer, with her son, her community, and her country at the heart of it all.
