Bogotá, Colombia — What began as a slightly delayed, nerve-filled soundcheck turned into an emotional, musically rich night at Mr Bum Audiobar in Bogotá’s Usaquén district on 27 May. Vocal jazz took centre stage as Mariana Hernández — supported by a full band and a stunning nine-woman vocal ensemble — delivered a pre-thesis concert that was equal parts workshop, showcase, and celebration.

Middlesbrough Town Hall - Scottish indie rockers The Snuts brought their Millennials tour to Middlesbrough Town Hall for a memorable night. This was my first time seeing them live, and they did not disappoint. The Hall was completely full of fans, excited to hear them play. From the moment they stepped on stage, their presence was electrifying. The stage was filled with props making it feel more alive, the lighting was eye catching perfectly in sync with each track, making the show feel more vibrant. Which helped create an atmosphere so good that no one wanted it to end, even after the last song, chants for “one more song!” echoed around the hall.

Though short—just under an hour—it offered a compelling glimpse into Kalop’s evolution as a songwriter and performer, with her son, her community, and her country at the heart of it all.
